- Ames Golf & Country Club The Club consists of 164 acres, including a well-manicured golf course, a heated pool, a wading pool, and two tennis courts.
- Coldwater Golf Links Bent grass tees, fairways and greens ensure the highest quality playing surfaces, while the treeless site and native grasses provide an experience unlike any other.
- Furman Aquatic Center Includes a 550' lazy river with a waterfall and two tremendous water slides both over 200' in length. There's a 50 meter pool that boasts a 150' drop slide, basketball hoops, floatables, 3-meter platform, and a 1-meter spring board. A 5,000 square foot recreational pool includes zero depth entry, spray features, a large play structure, a children's slide, and a toddler slide.
- Homewood Golf Course Grab your clubs and come golfing at Homewood Golf Course! Homewood has undergone many improvements that will make your round of golf an enjoyable one.
- Iowa State University Home of the Cyclones! Visit this historic campus that boasts beautiful architecture and landscaping. A great place to park your car and wander around by foot.
- Iowa Arboretum, Madrid Iowa Garden in Boone County features a library trail with 19 plant collections, a woodland preserve, and various specialty gardens.
- ISU Athletics Go Cyclones! If you are visiting for a game, click here for information about the teams.
- ISU Dairy Farm It wouldn't be right to visit ISU and not visit the Dairy Farm. Cows are milked at 5am and 5pm daily and the cows don't mind if you watch. The new dairy farm is located at 52470 260th Street.
- Mary Greeley Medical Center Hopefully you wont need it, but this is a 220-bed regional referral center in Ames, Iowa; serving a 13-county region throughout central Iowa.
- Perfect Games You can bowl, play laser tag, and arcade games! They also serve food at Kingpin Pizza inside the alley.
- Prairie Moon Winery Organically grown grapes range from classic Pinot Noir to 10 varieties of French hybrid grapes.
- Reiman Gardens One of the largest public gardens in Iowa and a fun place to wander - outside or in the Butterfly Garden which has been known to have as many as 800 butterflies. Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for kids (8-17).
- Seven Oaks Recreation A family owned and operated full service canoe, kayak and river tube outfitter that floats the scenic Des Moines river 7 days a week.
- Veenker Memorial Golf Course Veenker Golf Course is located just north of the Iowa State University campus in Ames, Iowa, and has an overall par of 72 for men and 73 for women.
